3rd Team Preview

North County

Our 3rd team kicked off their campaign with a trip to Tyrrelstown last Sunday. It wasn't the start that skipper Pritish Onmalwar was looking for, but he took positives from the performance:

"The match against Tyrrelstown 1 was the first match of the season. The conditions were not ideal for the game, but my team managed to put up a good fight on that day. Unfortunately, we lost the first game by 4 wickets, but there were some good all-round performances, especially by Irfan Arshad with the bat first of all and then taking two very good catches on the field which got us close to victory. We are looking forward to turning the results on our side and moving forward to the next match against Pembroke next Monday"

Pritish's ambitions for the season are unchanged, despite the early setback and he is very hopeful his side will have a positive season. He is what he had to say on his hopes for the 3rd team in 2019:

"'You don’t win or lose games because of 11 you select, you win or lose because of what those 11 do on the field.'

Going forward this would be the main motto of the 3rd team this season. Our main aim is to play to win and back each other in tough times. The last couple of years have not been great for this team but coming this summer we are moving in the right direction, with a mix of youth and experience in the team. We are aiming towards the best result for this team this season. I would like to wish all the other teams best of luck.

“ Enjoy the game and chase your dreams. Dreams do come true.”
