After a long wait, the 2020 cricket season will finally begin this Saturday, when our 1st team take on Balbriggan at Inch.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a large part of the 2020 cricket season has unfortunately been lost. However, a revised cricket schedule has been created and this weekend's fixture will be the first of seven games our 1st team will play in this year's Senior League Cup. As a result of the public safety regulations currently in place, all matches will be 20 over matches.
Eddie Richardson will captain the side this summer and he is very keen to get back playing cricket. He said "I'm looking forward to the new season. It's great to have Johnboy coaching and playing with us this year. We are all enjoying the sessions and we are all learning a lot from them too."
Eddie added "It's good fun around the club and all the players are excited about getting the season started."
He finished off by giving a few words about our new signing, who arrived from this weekend's opponents; "Our new signing Salman Aziz has fitted into the club perfectly and we're hoping for a good few runs out of him this season!"
Good Luck to ALL North County Senior & Juvenile teams kicking off the reduced 2020 season this weekend............ UP THE COUNTY
