2nd Team Preview

Our 2nd team kick off their season this Sunday with a home fixture against Railway Union. This match will be the first at Inch this season, and a special word must go to John Andrews and his team and also Joey Mooney for the endless time and effort they have put in over the past few weeks to get the pitch ready.

The man in charge of the 2nd's once again this season is Sean Sludds and here's what he has had to say on the upcoming season:

"Our 2nds squad are gearing up for another exciting season this year. We have a great mixture of talent across the team, with everyone having aspirations of fighting for a spot in the 1st XI. We're hoping to go a couple of spots further this year, having finished in the top half of Division 3 last year.

The squad has a wide range of talent across it, from experienced players such as Manmeet Singh, to young promising players such as Luke Whelan. We have multiple new joiners this year, Ryan Tobin, who is an opening batsman, and Callum Polo, a top order bat and wicketkeeper, being two of them.

Numbers at training have been particularly good this year and all the lads are looking forward to kicking off the season. Our first game, against Railway Union this coming Sunday, marks the first game of the 2019 season in Inch. A big thank you must go towards the ground staff, with the Inch looking exceptional this year, given that we are still in April."
